Technology Self-Assessment~School 2.0 NETS-T V.

The technology self-assessment assignment will help me engage in using various technology tools that will improve my professional practice. After searching through various links on the website I later looked into another teachers blog who shares information on free tools and great websites that any one can access to help incorporate technology into the learning environment. Using this technology assessment i am engaging in professional growth and leadership skills "(NETS-T 5).

For my Reflection results I chose to look into the section for NETS-T Module: Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership(NETS-T V)... I then decided to explore a link from the resources titled Tech:)HappyHappy Musings About Educational Technology.

The author of the blog site is Keith Farrell a teacher who has integrated technology in his lesson plan curriculum. This blog was created partly as a personal reflection of things that went well and things that can be learned from during Keith’s daily lessons; and also as a resource portal for teachers from around the world.

The cite utilizes technology and provides its viewers with many different teaching tools for teachers and students. It discussed some interesting apps that a teacher can download to use technology as an affective teaching method for studying vocabulary and what not.

One of the cites that Keith blogs about was: Study Jams has a fun selection of animated videos to help students with math and science concepts such as multiplication and division, algebra, fractions, geometry, landforms, solar system, matter, energy, light and sound, force and motion, animals, and much more.
I found his blog to be very interesting as well as informational for teachers and students. If you would like the link to his site I have added it here: http://edtechideas.com/

HELLO CLASS!!!

My name is Emily Kathryn Snow...

I was born in California but moved to Florida around the age of 3 when my parents divorced. I have been back and forth between the two states my whole life and would like to consider myself bi-coastal. I come from a large family with 8 siblings, 4 of us whom are girls, and 4 who are boys. My brother Patrick died as an infant, so only 7 of us are living. I am a transfer student from MSJC where I achieved the degree of Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Arts and Humanities. I am currently in the ICP program here at CSUSM where I hope to excel and achieve my B.A as well as my teaching credentials so I can stop waiting tables and begin my career as a teacher. I currently work as a waitress at Acapulco Mexican Restaurant y Cantina located in Restaurant Row. You can find me there 6 days a week when I am not here on campus.

I intend on trying out for the girls Lacrosse club this year, so if their is anyone else involved in the club let me know we can practice together... I am new to the area and look forward to making new friends from class and on campus. I have a strong feeling that this class will be one of my favorite classes from the first impression I made during our first session. My father is a total tech geek so fortunately for me, I consider myself pretty computer and technology savvy. If I don't know how to do something I can usually figure it out pretty quickly.

The part of the Mission statement for the College of Education Community that impacts me the most is, "to collaboratively transform public education..." Many of my previous teachers taught me to love to learn new things and I will forever be grateful that I love to learn and hope to install that same feeling into all of my future students.

I have many hobbies. I like going to the beach and surfing as well as playing in the sand. I like all out door sports from hiking and camping to biking, skating, kayaking etc. I am pretty much an out doors tom-boy type of girl, but I like girly things too. I look forward to this semester and getting to know every body. Well that is just some little tid-bits about me, now it's my turn to go read about you! See you in class!!!
